Once you have decided you will get a small dog, it's time to learn the different personalities and characteristics of small breeds, if you get one that fits your home and lifestyle.
Brussels Griffon
These adorable dogs in two varieties, that are hard and smooth, usually weighing between eight and twelve pounds. They can be a bit stubborn when it comes to housebreaking. The soft fawn Brussels needs brushing once a week and the rough coated Brussels Griffon twice a week. These dogs are ideal for small apartments or houses as long as you give them exercise. In general, this little dog is happy, playful, friendly, but perhaps a little cold towards strangers and is best with children who are older. Their average life expectancy is twelve years.
French Bulldogs
French bulldogs are perfect for small houses and apartments because they can play and romp a little and do not require them to exercise. They are wonderful, loving, good-natured dogs that love to be with family. They should spend most of their time indoors, especially if it is hot. The average life of a French bulldog is twelve years.
Australia Terriers
These small dogs are very strong, and in a courtyard house surrounded by plenty of exercise. These dens of guards who are very courageous and fearless. They put in a very short brush species once a week is sufficient. Terriers Australia like to be part of the family.
Miniature Schnauzer
Twelve to fourteen inches tall, these wonderful dogs are salt and pepper, plain black or black and silver. They are happy in an apartment or a big house in the country, as they are with their families. These great companions are intelligent, cheerful, friendly, and love to play. They must cut every four to six weeks and brushing occasionally.
Italian Greyhound
Need a house with a moderate amount of space to keep this happy active dog. A small dog, generally less than fifteen inches, come in several different colors. With short hair, who appreciate a sweater when cold weather. These dogs alert you when a stranger arrives, not aggressive. They are a race with its average long-term life of about fourteen.
Pomeranians
Typically weighing six pounds or less small, cute dogs they require a good deal of grooming and brushing because of their long hair. Perfect for small places, like be a dog trick and get attention. Good with children who grew up, they are fun and very loyal to their owners. Its half-life is fifteen years old.
Toy Poodle
A toy poodle is perfect for smaller places, but he is happy when their owners are. A weekly brushing and grooming every four to six weeks to keep them looking their best. Poodles were born to play and should have a supply of their own toys. Extremely intelligent, can be easily formed. Poodles like not only a bad choice for any event that moves or is missing a lot. Their average life expectancy is eleven years.
